Winter is coming, and energy prices are… Well, they are what they are.
We’ve set up an affiliate link with Octopus Energy, so if you were already thinking of switching from your current provider and just haven’t gotten around to it yet, use our link and not only will you get £50 in energy credit, but we’ll also receive a donation of £50 that will go towards our fundraising efforts.
We met with Winchester City Council at the Barn Store on Friday the 7th of February and we’ve got the go-ahead the start organising surveys of the property to see how extensive the damage is and what it will look like to repair.
We are hoping to organise an open day for the local community to come and have a look around but as the building is in a state of disrepair, the council is unsure about whether their liability insurance would cover public access (like on a building site), so we have taken some photos to show what it’s looking like on the inside at the moment.

As you can see, there’s damp and mould in the drop ceiling, and the walls (especially in the back room) will need significant intervention to mitigate and prevent further damage.
We will keep you updated as and when there is news right here on the blog!
We asked the neighbours to send some of their best photos of Abbotts Barton, and there were SO MANY incredible photos, that we’re splitting them up by season.
